A little more than 10 years ago, IGO was initiated as a pilot program to bring the first carsharing program to Chicago from Europe with the goal of extending the public transit network by providing people with environmentally responsible choices for mobility without sacrificing quality of life. Today, more than 15,000 individuals and businesses in 200 locations and over 40 Chicago neighborhoods, use the IGO carsharing program to serve their transportation needs.
With such great success, IGO and its parent organization, Center for Neighborhood Technology (CNT), felt that it was time to take the IGO Carsharing to the next level by mainstreaming its operations. Enterprise Holding’s offer to acquire IGO CarSharing was selected to combine IGO and Enterprise’s carsharing expertise with an injection of Enterprise’s financial and fleet resources, so that IGO could provide an even higher level of service for their carsharing community.
ACTIVITIES & RESULTS
Thinkinc. worked with IGO, CNT and Enterprise Holdings to assist in messaging for the merger announcement to ensure that IGO and CNT’s voice were represented and incorporated with Enterpris’s positioning. Additionally, Thinkinc. conducted local media relations to facilitate story positioning and local placement.
